Lower limb osteotomies are gaining importance in orthopaedic surgery, especially in joint preservation,
motivated largely by an increasing occurrence and distribution of osteoarthritis (OA) and other clinical
problems. Although the number of osteotomies per year is still low, scientific interest in joint preserving
procedures is rising worldwide due to improvements of planning, surgical technique and implants. Properly
planned HTO in an ideal individual can prolong the life of natural knee.
The intention is that enthusiastic delegates who engage with the course should take away a greater
understanding of the indications, principles and methods of knee osteotomy together with an increased
confidence in performing these procedures.
We are glad to have Dr Konrad Slynarski, from Poland, an expert in Knee Osteotomy, as our international
faculty along with prominent national faculty.
